A Time for Hope and Prayer

Dear Friends and Supporters of the J.A. Clermont Memorial Foundation,

Jovenel Moïse, the president of Haiti, was assassinated on 7 July 2021 at 1 a.m. EDT (UTC−04:00) at his residence. A group of 28 foreign mercenaries are alleged to be responsible for the killing.

During this time of crisis in Haiti, we want to update you about the status of those children, in our care. We are all in shock about the current events, but our local staff reports that things are calm in Jacmel. All of the children and their families have been contacted and are all safe and healthy.

So, we ask you to keep them, and everyone in Haiti, in your prayers as the nation struggles to heal from this atrocity, while also dealing with rising Covid-19 infection rates. The Haitian people have continually shown their resiliency through the many tragedies that have plagued the nation and, though there are difficult days ahead, we PRAY For Haiti and hope that a brighter future is just over the horizon.
